Connect-2-Lead Inaugural Graduates
Ashbury’s newest venture, the Connect2Lead (C2L) program is connecting community volunteers and helping them become better leaders. The purpose of C2L is to provide individuals who give back to their community by volunteering their valuable time, the tools and specialized training to enhance their personal skills. This 15-hour training program is intense and thus, students must possess intermediate technology skills, as well as be regular community volunteers in order to be eligible.
Congratulations to the inaugural class of Conect2Lead on successfully completing this valuable program! Graduates of C2L receive a fully loaded, refurbished desktop personal computer and a financial stipend toward Internet connectivity. |
Connect-2-Lead: E-POWERing our city’s volunteer community leaders
|
|
As you know, Ashbury Senior Computer Community Center (ASC³) has been providing residents of inner-city Greater Cleveland with technology education and access to technology for more than a decade. We have now served 4,000+ residents. We’ve also distributed 1,200+ free, re-furbished computers, and provided over 300 families with low-cost, Mobile Citizen Internet service. During the past year alone, 200+ students have participated in our classes and have become Broadband adopters.
Recognizing the need for enhanced technology skills and Broadband access in community advocacy, ASC3 is implementing a new initiative, Connect-2-Lead, aimed at E-POWERing (electronically empowering) our city’s volunteer community leaders. The program will provide participants with free computers, technology training and low-cost Internet service, which will enable them to more efficiently communicate with and serve their communities.
ASC3 will collaborate with local organizations to recruit neighborhood community leaders that have shown great potential in forging strong communal relationships. Connect-2-Lead will recruit up to 30 grassroots leaders who have demonstrated a commitment in serving their neighborhoods and who will pledge to complete the program.

How you can Help:
As a small, non-profit organization, donations are germane to our survival and ability to continue doing great work. Given this, please consider making ASC³ one of your philanthropic initiatives during this fiscal year. Your tax-deductible donation in the amount of $20.00 to $100.00 (or other amount) will allow Connect-2-Lead to move forward. Again, thank you for assisting ASC³ in continuing to execute its mission, and foster a culture of Digital Inclusion in the city of Cleveland. Sincerely, Wanda Davis Executive Director, ASC3 |
