Elder abuse is a dramatically under-represented issue, with only 1 in 24 cases of elder abuse being reported. The threat of elder abuse can make planning for aging or finding the right care difficult for seniors and their family members, who may be unsure of how to recognize signs of abuse and find safe housing arrangements.
